The year 2014 has brought many blessings to Beyond Relief. The trade school has seen incredible growth. With 56 students graduating in July of 2014, we are already hearing stories of how the school is impacting the community of St. Louis du Nord, Haiti. A short 2 months later, September saw the launch of our 4th year with a record 140 students enrolled for the 2014-2015 school year and many more waiting to get into the school! We’ve outgrown our facility as the current building is already too small to accommodate all of the classes with so many students. This is a problem we are honestly blessed to have!
Thank you for all that you do in so many ways to help this ministry. Your prayers, donations, and the hours that you give to serve through BRIM are very much appreciated!
Many of you have already made a year-end donation; thank you! If you have not made a year-end donation yet, please consider making one before midnight on December 31st if you would like to claim it on your 2014 taxes.
Mackel, the director for the trade school, has been negotiating the price of land for which the owner wants to have an offer by January 1st. Donations that we receive before this deadline will help us decide if we will be able to purchase the land. The owner is currently asking $30,000, but Mackel is trying to negotiate it down to $28,000. If we go forward with this purchase, we will be able to start construction in early 2015 once we raise the funds to build. Estimates show our cost would be approximately $50,000 to build the school building we require. God has a plan and we look forward to seeing what he does.
Upcoming event: February 21, 2015 – Haitian art show, come see the wonderful paintings the Beyond Relief Trade School art students have painted. They are beautiful and will be available for purchase. More information will be coming in January.
May you have a very blessed 2015!
