Dear Friend of Beyond Relief,
As 2013 comes to a close, we want to sincerely thank you for contributing financially to Beyond Relief. Your contributions are impacting Haitian students in ways that we can hardly imagine here in the United States. Many students say that you have given them hope for their future.
Your donations are providing over 150 young Haitian adults the opportunity to learn skills which are resulting in them obtaining jobs and giving them and their families hope for the future. All classes are full, including 30 students now getting training in computer skills. The community as a whole is very excited about the school in general and about the computer class in particular.
Our first graduation, in August, was so special for the graduates and also the students who will follow them in 2014. When we returned to visit in September for the start of the 2013/2014 school year most of the graduates were already earning money!
As we approach 2014, the challenges of providing this trade school continue. We are learning more about space needs, security needs, and energy requirements. All our electricity is now supplied from the new generator that we purchased when we moved into the larger building at the start of this school year. If you think that gasoline is expensive where you live, you can at least double that cost in Haiti, assuming that it is available at all. Solar power is very viable in Haiti; we need to purchase a solar system in 2014 to reduce our energy expenses and improve the reliability of our power system.
Will you help us to purchase a solar system this year? The cost is expected to be $2000. Your year-end donation of $50, $100, $500, or whatever amount you can provide, will enable us to get a solar power system installed soon. Donations can be made by check or online via PayPal on our website, www.GoBeyondRelief.org. Beyond Relief can receive stock donations, also. Your donation of appreciated stock is a great way to support Beyond Relief and avoid the capital gains taxes. If you will donate stock, contact David via e-mail (david@gobeyondrelief.org) or telephone (513-284-1053) and we can work out the specifics.
As you can see, God has truly blessed His ministry with Beyond Relief. We look forward with you to what the coming year has in store. You are providing hope to many young Haitian adults.
Sincerely,
David and Rita Kuntz
President and Executive Director
P.S.: The solar system will virtually eliminate the $250+ per month spent on gasoline for the generator!
